During Term 4 our reading groups in 5D will be working with the Core Library collection of readers and the Literacy Direction Cards.
These reading resources cover a range of reading abilities and focus on reading skills such as character studies,setting the scene, reading for meaning, finding meanings of unknown words, making inferences, making predictions, summarising, evaluating, stating opinions and finding information, asking questions,making responses, describing emotions and clarifying ideas. The reading materials cover a wide range of reading interests and include non-fiction books, picture books, chapter books and individually graded reading cards. Reading sessions will involve group guided reading work and individual contract work. Reading Groups will be rostered to work with the teacher in a guided reading/ teaching session.
